Miljenko Jergović

Miljenko Jergović, born 1966 in Sarajevo, is a Bosnian/Herzegovinian and Croatian writer, poet and essayist. He studied philosophy and sociology in Sarajevo and is co-founder of Group 99. Jergović reported for the Zagreb weekly newspaper Nedeljna Dalmacija from besieged Sarajevo, where he was also a television editor. He has lived in Zagreb since 1993 and is a political columnist for various Croatian and international newspapers. His books have been translated into multiple languages and have won numerous awards, recently (together with his German translator Brigitte Döbert) the Georg Dehio Book Prize 2018.
